Returns & Refunds Policy

Last updated: April 2025

We are a small independent publisher selling physical books. Please read this policy carefully before purchasing. We honour your statutory rights in full — but we do not offer goodwill returns beyond what the law requires.

Your Right to Cancel (Online Orders)

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving a reason. To exercise this right, you must notify us in writing within those 14 days. You then have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.

To cancel, contact us at: [email protected]

We will process your refund within 14 days of receiving the returned goods, using the same payment method as your original purchase.

Conditions for Return

Books are physical goods that lose resale value rapidly once handled. For a return to be accepted, all of the following must apply:

  • The book is unread and in its original, undamaged condition — no bent spines, cracked bindings, turned pages, or any marks

  • The book is in its original packaging, intact and undamaged

  • You have proof of purchase

  • The return is sent via a tracked, insured postal service — at your cost and risk

  • The book arrives with us in resaleable condition

Books showing any signs of having been read, handled beyond a brief inspection, or returned in unsatisfactory condition will be refused and returned to the sender at their expense. We are the sole judge of condition.

You are responsible for the cost of return postage. We strongly recommend tracked and insured delivery. We accept no liability for items lost or damaged in return transit.

Faulty or Damaged Goods

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if your book arrives with a manufacturing defect or printing fault, you must notify us within 30 days of receipt with clear photographic evidence. We will offer a replacement or refund at our discretion. Normal variation in print quality, minor cover scuffs from transit, or personal dissatisfaction with content do not constitute faults.

Pre-Orders

Pre-order payments are held until your book ships. Your statutory 14-day cancellation right begins from the date of delivery, not the date of payment. Pre-orders cannot otherwise be cancelled or refunded ahead of dispatch except where your legal rights require it.

Refund Processing

Qualifying refunds will be issued within 14 days of our receiving and inspecting the returned goods. We reserve the right to reduce the refund to reflect any diminution in value caused by handling beyond what was necessary to inspect the goods.

Our Right to Refuse

We reserve the right to refuse returns where we have reasonable grounds to suspect misuse of this policy, including repeated returns from the same customer. This does not affect your statutory rights.
